About Lisanne Elkins, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master

I have beimg_7601en practicing the art of massage therapy for 22 years. I graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Westport, Connecticut and am licensed in New York and Connecticut, as well as nationally certified. I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (amtamassage.org). My studio is located in Mount Kisco, NY and I am available for both office visits and (limited) house calls through appointment.

I have recently added an office space in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, with limited hours.  I am currently offering outdoor tent massage for a limited time.

My training is based in Swedish massage, but various modalities– particularly energy work– such as Reiki, Shiatsu acupressure, somatic release and Cranio-Sacral therapy, are incorporated into a basic 60- or 90-minute massage. I am certified in the Usui Reiki System, levels I and II and earned my Reiki Mastership in a year-long program of study. I specialize in pre- and post-natal massage, hot stone massage, headache relief, deep tissue and trigger point release.

I also offer aromatherapy–a treatment using pure, essential oils and reflexology–an ancient therapy attending to specific acupoints, or intensified areas of energy on the feet and hands. Special and seasonable packages are available, such as “Scalp and Sole,” a specialized massage focusing solely on the feet and head, and couples massage. I recently trained in Thai Foot Massage through Manhattan’s Swedish Institute and am glad to say I can add this technique to my toolbox.

massagingMost of us lead stressful lives. Research proves that stress leads to an imbalance in the Body-Mind. If we do not take steps to mitigate the effects of stress, health can be compromised. My goal, through the restorative power of massage, is to help perpetuate a sense of calm and well-being for my clients in their day-to-day lives, and to relieve muscular, circulatory and energetic imbalances and discomforts that stress can bring on. These various life stresses that we all endure can lead to dis-ease. But energy work and massage therapy, used both preventatively and curatively, have shown to bring our body, mind and spirit back to center and restore our equilibrium.

Please feel free to email me any questions you may have about my professional background, or general questions about massage therapy.
