Self-Care for Stressful Times

winter-tree

Dear Friends,

I hope you had a satiating Thanksgiving, both physically (good food) and spiritually (good company.) Thus, we begin the frenzied, yet fulfilling days that lead to the winter holidays. We find ourselves once again heading into the darkest season of the year, yet we can also refer to this time as The Season of Light, because once we arrive at the darkest day of the year– the Winter Solstice—our days slowly lengthen again, promising sleeping buds and bare trees to sense the light and gradually make their way back to Spring.

Let us keep this in mind as we explore the often-chaotic world that surrounds us—whether it’s the political climate or the environmental climate. Sometimes we feel out of control and unable to act. Sometimes we question real meaning and become overwhelmed. When that happens, it’s helpful to focus within, re-ground, surround ourselves with people, places and things that support us and make sure we are kind to ourselves. This may mean having a relaxing massage, or realigning and unblocking our energetic pathways with a restorative Reiki session.

On that note, I have attached both a seasonal greeting and an opportunity to purchase gift certificates for massage and/or Reiki, hot stone massage, aromatherapy, pregnancy or post-partum massage and other services, with a savings of 10 per cent until January 1st, 2017.

Now, more than ever, massage, Reiki and other means of coming back to ourselves are not just luxuries, but necessities. If we are to navigate through uncertainty—be it personal, familial or global, it is essential to care for ourselves holistically, addressing body, mind and spirit.

Please email or call me for more information. As always, I am grateful for your business.
